Executive Board

  • President: David Corrente

    David is the current President of HSWET and is a mechanical engineering senior at Hopkins. Most of his focus is on robotics and control systems. Despite that, he’s spent most of his time in HSWET as a member and subteam lead of the Generator team. After he graduates, he plans on staying at Hopkins for one more year to get his master's in mechanical engineering.

  • Vice President: Chris Khoury

    Chris is a senior studying electrical engineering pursuing a 4-year combined BS/MS with a minor in entrepreneurship & management. He joined the team because he is passionate about sustainability and thought HSWET would be a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in renewable energy while meeting people with similar interests.

  • Finance Chair: Darby Bankoski

    Darby is a sophomore studying mechanical engineering with interests in renewable energy and underwater robotics. Outside of HSWET, she is involved with the Society of Women Engineers and is passionate about engineering tangible solutions.

  • Secretary: Joel Rentas-Velez

    Joel is a sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering. He joined the team due to his interest in the intersection of aerodynamics and wind turbines. Joel is excited for the future of wind energy and how it will evolve from an engineering standpoint.

  • Project-Dev Representative: William Chavez

    William is a sophomore studying Molecular and Cellular Biology as well as Environmental Science. He is the Project Development representative for HSWET and leads the Siting subteam. He joined HSWET to learn more about renewable energy and to enjoy the fun of the competition.
