The Collegiate Wind Competition is an annual competition hosted by the Department of Energy where schools from around the country compete to design a wind turbine, create a wind-farm project development plan, and create connections in the wind energy industry. It takes place in early May each year.

Do I need to be a certain major/year to join?
HSWET is open to students of any major/year, and we pride ourselves on the diversity of our members! No matter what major you are, there is a project for you to take on — whether that is designing the turbine’s blades or creating a financing plan for the turbine siting. No past experience is required!

When is HSWET actively recruiting?
We hold information sessions and participate in the Student Involvement Fair at the start of both the Fall and Spring semesters, but interested members can join anytime throughout the year! Send us an email (jhuwindenergy@gmail.com) or Instagram direct message (@jhu_hswet) to get in contact!
